Boutique bowling alley, Vintners Lanes in Greenwich has taken the top spot at the 40th Annual Bowling Centre Architecture and Design Awards!
Hosted in Texas, USA, the annual awards recognise bowling centres from across the world for their superior design and style. Judged by a panel of industry experts, only 7 centres globally are chosen each year for a coveted award. The only UK based alley to snag a prize, Vintners Lanes was celebrated for its stunning interior.
Opened on 15 November 2024, this new venue transforms the upper floor of a historic building into a dynamic and immersive bowling alley, complete with an atmospheric bar and lounge that reimagines its rich heritage for modern audiences.
The building, which dates back to the 1850s, is a significant site for Davy’s, one of London’s oldest wine merchants. Branding and interior design specialists DesignLSM took this as inspiration, embracing the original brickwork, concrete features, and historical detailing, juxtaposing these with atmospheric lighting for a timeless yet forward-thinking aesthetic. Vintners Lanes preserves the rich heritage of its surroundings with the venue’s industrial-chic aesthetic complemented by original period furniture, playful Victoriana artwork, and vintage bowling memorabilia.
Offering an experience that combines premium bowling with exceptional food, drinks and events Vintners Lanes prides itself on being ‘bowling, but better’.
