Bexley supports international campaign against gender-based violence

28 Nov, 2024

The London Borough of Bexley is proud to support the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence global campaign that runs from 25 November to 10 December.

The campaign aims to raise awareness of and take action to prevent violence against women and girls.

In addition to its participation, the London Borough of Bexley is pleased to have recently received the ‘White Ribbon Accreditation’, a recognition of the Council’s ongoing commitment to ending gender-based violence.

Throughout the 16 Days of Activism, Bexley will host a number of workshops to engage the local community, support survivors and empower individuals to take a stand against gender-based violence.

Councillor Brain Bishop, Cabinet Member for Communities and Housing said:

Together, as a community, we can create a safer, more supportive environment for everyone. The 16 Days of Activism is an opportunity to celebrate the positive changes we can make when we work together to foster respect, equality and dignity for all.

With the support of the White Ribbon Accreditation, we are taking a clear stand to raise awareness, provide support and ensure that everyone in Bexley feels safe, valued and heard.”
