At last, the sound of glasses clinking as the sun shone, while music and laughter filled the air once more. We were delighted to welcome colleagues, friends and new connections to South East London Chamber of Commerce to the first open event in more than a year! Amazing what a difference relocating to a stunning location makes and when accompanied by a bit of sunshine and some delicious food and drink it takes it to an entirely new level.
The long anticipated 2021 summer BBQ was held at The Clarendon Hotel in Blackheath Village on Thursday 8 July, the event was fully attended so there was a there was a fantastic atmosphere and the afternoon was a perfect way to network while celebrating the imminent lifting of the pandemic restrictions. Guests chatted beneath an elegant Marquee which was originally set up in case of poor weather, that in the end served as a shade against the heat of the afternoon sun. Delicious, barbecued food was served in buffet format with wine and soft drinks flowing, while wonderful music was provided by world class kora virtuoso and multi-instrumentalist, Mosi Conde.
New members mixed with established faces, resulting in some great conversations about potential new partnership working and collaboration, as long sidelined ideas resurrected with renewed excitement. We look forward to the next event with anticipation!
